MS-06FZ Zaku II Kai
Debut: Mobile Suit Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket, Episode 1 (OVA series, 1989)
Description: The MS-06FZ Zaku II Kai was a redesigned and improved version of the F-Type Zaku II built by the Principality of Zeon during the One Year War in UC 0079 (Universal Century). The Zaku II Kai was part of the "Unified Complete Equipment Plan" to improve existing mobile suits and simplify manufacturing. Although it's speed and maneuverability was high compared to the previous Zaku mobile suits, the Zaku II Kai suffered reduced operational time on account of the high fuel-consuming thrusters. Piloted by Zeon operative Bernard Wiseman during the final stages of the One Year War, this mobile suit type was perhaps most famous for seriously damaging the Earth Federation Forces RX-78NT-1 Gundam G-4 Alex in a final desperate battle upon Side 6 in December UC 0079.
Original mechanical designer: Yutaka Izubuchi
