  • 42+ Paladin Pack micro-missiles (estimated count), 2 x Bifors CIMM-3A micro-missile launchers pods (3 exit ports per launcher, mounted in forward main boosters, unknown missile count); 2 x Remmington HMM-5A close-in micro-missile CIWS launcher pod (mounted forward dorsal fuselage in Fighter, over shoulders in Battroid mode, 42 x micro-missiles in two launcher pods)
  • 1 x Howard GU-17V loaded with MDE warhead specification for anti-Vajra combat
  • paladin pack micro-missile warheads can be refit with anti-Vajra MDE warhead specification

  • Description and History

The new generation of variable fighters began with the YF-24 prototype jointly developed by Shinsei Industries and General Galaxy. After the YF-24 was cancelled Shinsei Industries pursued a new prototype based on the original YF-24 called the YF-24 Evolution as the successor to the VF-19 Excalibur. The YF-24 Evolution was eventually completed and plans provided to the many Fleets and Colonies that are a part of the New Unity Government . On the Macross Frontier fleet the state-of-the-art YF-25 Prophecy was created under leadership of L.A.I. as an initially unarmed testing machine using design data of the YF-24 Evolution. Additionally the YF-25 also tested the EX-Gear control system, with two units installed for both the pilot and co-pilot. A distinctive head unit features a compound sensor unit which analyzes collected imaged data from multiple sources. The YF-25 can also perform remote control of unmanned aerospace combat vehicles in a similar manner to the function of the descendent RVF-25 Messiah variant.

Only a small number of YF-25 Prophecy craft were manufactured before building and deploying the VF-25 Messiah into the Strategic Military Services (S.M.S.) for actual combat-use trials. Several sets were produced for the control test of the transformation system and for performance tests. As of 2058 a prediction of a possible invasion by the heavily armored creatures known as the "Vajra" prompted development of the SPS-25P/MF25 Paladin Pack for Heavy Armored Assault. The Paladin Pack was produced on an experimental basis in developing effective soldier equipment. Included in the Paladin Pack is a large lance for hand-to-hand combat, which deploys a Pin-point Barrier around the weapon for enhanced striking performance.

Strategic Military Services (S.M.S.) Apollo platoon pilot Chelsea Scarlett operated a YF-25 Prophecy in 2058, roughly a year after the YF-25's first flight (previously piloted by Angers 672). When conflict began with the Anti-U.N. organization "FASCES", Chelsea Scarlett piloted the Prophecy in battle. The excellent electronic warfare capabilities of the Prophecy allowed Chelsea Scarlett to hack the super high-maneuverability missiles of the FASCES forces Queadluun-Alma. Eventually the YF-25 Prophecy fought in the decisive battle of the FASCES conflict.
