  • Description and History

The vajra exist as a species of shared consciousness utilizing fold waves in a great network that allows instant communication among all vajra over vast distances. The vajra thus have no chain of command, but there are specialized breeds of vajra called Semi-Queens which function as the center of the network of fold wave communications. In this way, all the vajra - as network creatures - are part of the single vajra consciousness. The Vajra Semi-Queen exists within the 10-20 kilometer long Bishop Class Mobile Fortress Vajra, using the massive craft as a nest. They are found leading groups of vajra as they wander through deep space in search of suitable planets upon which to nest. Once nested, the Semi-Queen will grow into a full Vajra Queen attaining such grand sizes of up to several hundred kilometers in length. Prior to nesting upon a planet, some Semi-Queens have been observed habitating within Zentradi mobile fortresses as temporary nests. It is possible the vajra assume this behaviour because the design of the Zentradi mobile fortresses is similar their own mobile fortress nests. The Semi-Queen's tail is an ovipositor, but if needed the creature can defend itself by projecting a heavy quantum beam blade upon the tail tip that is capable of easily penetrating the armor of a VF-25 Messiah variable fighter.
