A strange, small space craft with a fold booster. Captain Uran from the Macross Galaxy fleet arrived via space fold near the Macross Frontier fleet in this unknown class of ship to deliver a distress call.
NOTE: Fans often discuss this unknown craft, noting it resembles the VF-2SS Valkyrie II (from Macross II: Lovers Again) or comparing it to the VF-4 Lightning III, the VF-5000 Star Mirage, or the VF-11 Thunderbolt. Examining screenshots from the Macross Frontier series makes clear the craft is not a pre-existing class but rather a different design as yet unidentified. There is no official information published about this craft to date, only that it shares the style of a variable craft yet not any specific design that can be definitively identified. This space craft does not appear in any Macross Frontier book and is only mentioned via a screen shot in the Macross Chronicle. The craft appears to be a throwaway design required only as a one-time use for purposes of the plot of episode 5. Or it could possibly be a reference to the 1992 animated OVA Macross II: Lovers Again, a part of the theme in the Macross Frontier series that celebrates all the Macross stories of the past 25 years.
